Slim-Fast Diet Plan

The Slim-Fast Diet Plan is a meal replacement program where dieters eat Slim-Fast Brand meals and snacks along with one sensible meal each day.

The Slim-Fast plan only focuses on what people eat, and does not focus on the emotional reasons that they eat. The Slim-Fast plan offers shakes, bars, and pre-packaged meals. Dieters are encouraged to stay away from high-fat and high-calorie foods, and choose high-fiber/high-vitamin foods instead. By choosing to eat the Slim-Fast Brand foods, participants are automatically eating in such a way that more calories are burned than those taken in. The Slim-Fast diet is best for those who want to take all of the guess work out of eating; it’s for those who don’t want to have to think about what types of food would make a healthy meal or snack. It’s ideal for busy people who don’t have time to cook and just want to go to the store and pick up pre-packaged foods that are healthy.

Pros:
  • It’s flexible, in that you have a fairly wide-variety of Slim-Fast Brand foods to choose from, and you do eat 1 "real food" meal per day.

  • Effectiveness and success of the diet is highly published.

  • Emphasizes exercise as a part of life.

  • No calorie counting.

  • Low-carb plan is also available.

  • Support is offered both on-line and via telephone.

Cons
  • Dieters have to buy the Slim-Fast Brand foods.

  • The diet can become tiresome because participants only eat one meal each day that is made up of "real food".

  • Primary focus is not on teaching people how to eat healthy on their own. They instead rely on Slim-Fast Brand foods.
