Keeping Up The Pace

Making exercise a part of your daily life can be hard. It’s really common for people to exercise for a while and then get tired of it, but if you are looking at this page then I know that you are in it for the long haul. You want to make exercising and eating right a habit, and here are some tips to help you out:

  • Always wear comfortable shoes and clothing while working out. Comfort is key.

  • Start slowly, take your time, and don’t push yourself too hard too fast. This leads to burn out.

  • Exercise at the same time every day or every other day. This will help you make it a habit. Pencil it in to your date book at the beginning of each week.

  • Make sure to stay hydrated.

  • Find a friend or family member who will exercise with you. This will make it more fun, and it will help you stick with it for the long haul.

  • Do a variety of different activities- walk one day, do strength training the next, and then go for a bike ride on the weekend.

  • Take an exercise class at your local YMCA, health club, or community center.

  • Look for ways to be more active throughout your day. Walk to the local convenience store instead of taking the car, skip the elevator and take the stairs, or do some light exercises while watching TV.

  • Don’t give up, even if you have missed a few days of exercise. Just get right back in there and start it up again.
